A number of things determine the amount of funds available, including the number of venues in your area and the turnover of those venues. Even within an area, our Net Proceeds Committee looks to distribute funds as close to where they are generated as possible – this means that a higher percentage of the funding in an area may go to the suburbs and communities where our venues are located.
There are also times where we get a request for a substantial grant from a very worthy organisation – this may mean that for a period there is less funding available to other applicants.
A proportion of the funds raised in all of our venues goes to national organisations that support communities all over New Zealand.
